ABOUT

In 1990 I joined the Navy as an aircraft engineer and then became an air traffic controller in 1997.

My late father was a joiner and builder by trade and with my late mother, built their business from scratch - literally - a boarding kennels. During my leave periods from the Navy, I worked alongside him, learning many practical skills - and I was also able to put these skills to very good use whilst on deployment.

Following my retirement from the Navy and after completing major work to my own property after our relocation to France a few years earlier, Groundworks86 began in 2013 and I was able to put these skills and qualifications into the business.

Over the past few years we have worked with many clients on a variety of different projects.

"Jack of all trades" - an interesting phrase in many ways - especially as "Jack" was Richards nickname in the Navy (owing to his surname, Frost!) - but this is where the saying ends.
We at Groundworks86 have "mastered" many skills - which is why we feel we can offer many services to you.
During service with the British Navy, Richard was involved in many projects - rebuilding houses, hospitals, churches ... in war torn countries - or often as relief aid after natural disasters such as hurricanes. This often invloved teaching local communities to continue the established work - plumbing, building, heating, electricity - everything had to be done and it was all hands on deck!

So if you are wondering if we can help you? If you are not convinced (and we try to put as much information and photos on our facebook page and on our website) - please come and see some of the work we have done - or speak to our happy and satisfied customers.

We are happy to provide you with a no obligation quotation for your work - large or small. If we cannot do the job you want, we will tell you! And refer you to recommended tradesmen who can!

Et en plus - nous parlons français!!
